Summary: Discussion of trace substances in
surface and groundwater systems
with the potential for investigations of flow dynamics, and (reactive)
transport processes as well as paleoclimate.
The principal methods of isotope hydrology (e.g., tracers as 'dyes' or
'radioactive clocks') and the geochemistry and sources/sinks of the
individual
tracers in surface/groundwater systems are discussed. Observed
distributions
are presented and interpreted in terms of flow/transport dynamics
and
paleoclimate.
