Earth's climate as the product of several major physical - chemical -
biological
systems operating together (fig. 1).
The reservoirs of water in the earth's hydrologic cycle have a large
impact
on climate and, in turn, can be influenced by climate (fig.
2).
The recent increase in greenhouse gases (such as carbon dioxide) has
caused
concern that climate may warm, and produce significant environmental
effects.
One of these may be the melting of land ice that results in a rise in
sea
level (fig. 3).
