Most of the time, half of the people in a cabin are on one shift (e.g., noon to midnight) and the other half is on the opposite shift (e.g., midnight to noon). Since it is likely that somone will be asleep in your cabin while you are on duty, it is important to bring everything you might need for the day. You don't make many friends if you wake them up while rumaging around the cabin for something you forgot.
