Two holes were drilled into the wide ranging rocks underlying the Lamont Campus. Both holes penetrate the diabase sill while the deep hole pushes thought the bottom of the sill into the sand-shale sequence beneath the sill. Both holes will remain uncased, however the shallow hole will contain a high pressure vessel and associated apparatus which will become a high pressure testing facility for logging tools and other long downhole devices.
