Network Maintenance Successful

Internet's Primary Link Maintenance
CUIT Network Operations will be performing maintenance on Lamont's primary link to the downtown Columbia campus (our link to the internet) 5-6 PM this Thursday, February 23.
LDEO mail outage
Most outgoing mail was turned off from Sunday, ~12:30 AM until ~3:31 AM because a compromised account was being used to send spam.
Internet Outage - Update - Fixed
There are intermittent Internet outages at Lamont since 3:30 pm today. We are investigating the issue, and consulting with CUIT.
old mail server outage
The old mail server went down at approximately 13:18 Saturday 11, 2012 due to an expired certificate.
WIND Authentication Outage
Between approximately 8:05 and 9:50 this morning, some WIND authenication became unavailable. CUIT engineers worked to resolve the issue. WIND is currently operating normally.
mstorec2 repaired
Mstorec2 ras repaired with all four CPUs running and was back up at about 12:30PM
mstorec2 emergency downtime
Mstorec2 has to come down immediately to replace a failed CPU. Sorry for the short notice.
Mail Forwarding and Vacation Setup
Users on the "new" mail server will need to use Ingo (similar to the CUIT systems) to either forward your mail, OR to set up a vacation message.
Email Server Maintenance
Maintenance on the mail server starting Tuesday, September 20, ~1:30 AM did not
go as planned. The email directory service was damaged and had to be restored.
