LDEO Network outage 9/30

A module in our main Cisco router failed sometime shortly prior to 3PM today. This
failure was masked by issues on the Seismology Cisco switch which was reset at about 4PM.
The blade that failed was the one that connects us to the Internet. Our Internet
connection was rerouted to working ports on another blade by about 7:30PM. There may still
be some minor connectivity problems with subnets in Geoscience and the wireless net in
Geoscience.  A new Cisco blade is suppose to arrive tomorrow (Thurs) morning.
