CICAR Themes
The Cooperative Institute for Climate Applications and Research, is a research
partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) and Columbia University in the City of New York dedicated to advancing
climate research, education, and outreach to benefit the public interest.
CICAR is administered from the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) in
Palisades, New York and hosted by the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory
(GFDL) in Princeton, New Jersey.
CICAR draws on world-class talent from The Earth
Institute at Columbia University (EI) and its various research units,
most notably LDEO, to address three themes central to its overall research
strategy:
