events: tea hosting instructions
Tea is held at 4pm every Wednesday of the school year in the Geoscience Lounge.
You get a $35 budget to buy snacks and goodies for fellow grad students. Make sure to save your receipt. If you pay in cash you will get reimbursed more quickly than if you pay with a card. When you have your receipt take it to Carol Mountain in the DEES office for her signature and directions on how to get reimbursed.
You should show up 15-20 min before 4 to start set up and have time for the water to get hot. The hot water urn thingy is in the closet and should be empty and clean. You should leave it that way when you are done also! Fill it about half to three quarters full and turn it on. There are cutting boards, bowls, knives etc next to the sink if you need them.
Spare mugs are in the cabinet above the sink. Encourage people to use the mugs (as long as they wash them when done!) or bring their own instead of wasting paper cups.
When tea is over make sure to clean up the table, dishes and return the cart to the closet. There are often other people around to lend a hand.
