In 2006 and 2007 we have been working with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute on a National Science Foundation Funded project measuring two trace metals in the Hudson River (rhenium and molybdenum) . More information on this project will be posted as results become available. A copy of the testing protocols is attached here.


Sediments	Enterococcus	Mapping	Chlorophyll

Working with science partners we have been able to develop some special activities and collaborate on research projects through our Snapshot Day activities. These collaborations provide the students several unique opportunities:

Access to research products that provide a unique lens into the river (benthic map images for their area of the river, sediment information & fly through images)
Access to scientists and their equipment for sample analyses (chlorophyll samples, sediment sampling)
Participation in active research projects on the Hudson by both undergraduate and graduate students (enterococcus)
Participation in active nationally funded research projects (Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute research on rhenium and molybdenum levels in the Hudson River)
