original (older) email system failure

A mirrored diisk on lamont (the original older email system) failed at about 1820 this evening. This should not have caused a problem, however the failed disk hung the disk bus and all activity stopped. We have replaced the disk and are re-syncing data at this point. We will turn on receiving mail and then later turn on reading mail if all goes well.  Folks on the new email servers are not effected.
