LDEO Postdoctoral Mentoring Plan

Effective August 1, 2010, an institution-wide postdoctoral plan was put into place.  Since the creation of the Office of Academic Affairs & Diversity, special efforts have been made to reach out to postdoctoral researchers in an attempt to hear their input on matters pertaining to their postdoctoral experiences. Individual meetings/ interactions with a large number of postdoctoral researchers and junior scientists revealed that the postdoctoral experience at LDEO is variable. Accordingly, the  LDEO Postdoc Mentoring Plan has been developed to provide postdoctoral researchers with the sort of guidance they need. If you wish to provide input on this plan, please click here.

Leadership Grant Initiative

This initiative is aimed at assisting junior scientists in various aspects of career development and in providing them with certain career and leadership assistance opportunities. A number of small grants are awarded to junior scientists to enable their participation in leadership conferences. See details by clicking the “Funding Opportunities” tab and scrolling down. The recipients of these funds then share their experiences with other postdoctoral scholars and junior scientists.
