<>LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
I am extremely disappointed that I will miss the Lamont Ball
this weekend - the person to blame is my brother, for allowing
his daughter to schedule her wedding at such an inconvenient
time. The only upside is that my superior choreographic skills
will remain hidden for yet another year……..
A couple of important announcements: this years Jardetzky
lecturer is Inez Fung from UC Berkeley - 3:30 pm Monell Auditorium
May 11th - her talk will be entitled "Changing carbon
cycle and accelerating climate change."
Thank you to everyone who helped organize the Comer Memorial
Symposium this past Wednesday - it was good - I think we achieved
the objective of honoring a great man.
Speaking of great men…….if you want to see a picture
of Wally with Queen Silvia of Sweden check out -

Lastly - 2:00 pm Thursday next week May 10th - Jeff Sachs
will host a Town Hall Meeting in the Monell Auditorium- as
always, all are invited.
I will be in the UK over the weekend - back in the office
Tuesday - have a good one,
- Mike
