Open House 2012

Whether you're an aspiring young scientist or a long-time science enthusiast, you're sure to enjoy Lamont-Doherty's Open House. Tour a lab, participate in hands-on earth science demonstrations, and learn from world-renowned researchers about their latest discoveries.

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory is located at 61 Route 9W, Palisades, NY (directions).

Open House is free and open to the public, with a $5 suggested contribution. No registration required. Further event information will be posted as it becomes available. People arriving by car should park at the IBM Palisades Conference Center on Route 9W, just north of the LDEO campus. Shuttle buses run continuously from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, arriving and departing from the Geoscience building at LDEO. People traveling from Manhattan via the free shuttle buses will depart from the entrance to Teachers College (120th street between Broadway and Amsterdam) beginning at 9:30 a.m. They will run on the half hour until the final departure at 2:00 p.m. Buses will leave Lamont-Doherty for the city on the half hour from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (note there will not be a 2:30 p.m. shuttle) For large groups, or if you have special needs, please call (845) 365-8634 to make arrangements.
