Antarctic Zone Flux Experiment

The Antarctic Zone Flux Experiment (ANZFLUX) was conducted aboard the R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer in the Eastern Weddell Sea. The objective of the cruise was to measure the magnitude of heat flux through the air-sea-ice interface, and to describe the mechanisms that drive and control the fluxes of heat, salt and momentum. The majority of these measurements took place on drifting camps deployed from the ship onto the sea ice. Eight principal investigators, listed below, from seven institutions participated.
