Vessel ROBERT E. CONRAD

The Research Vessel (R.V.) ROBERT CONRAD Lamont's second ship (pictured
here) and the R.V. VEMA both sailed a million miles while transecting the
world's oceans for research under the flag of Columbia University. It is
our good fortune that the VEMA and CONRAD fell under Maurice Ewing's "A
core-a-day" directive for many years.
