About the Sample History Database
The records of core sampling in the Lamont Core Repository
date back to the earliest cores taken in our 51-year history. This
archive of sampling history has been and remains a valuable tool for
researchers. All work on a particular core, or all work by a scientist
over time can be revealed. The records are now in the process of being
digitized starting with the most recent history and going back in time.
The database will be on-line and available for searching as it is
developed. If data you would like is not yet available on-line, please
contact the Core
Repository.
Search criteria and output options are listed below. To help with your
search strategy, keep in mind that each suite of samples taken by one P.I.
(or more) for one reason is logged as one "record" . The date registered
is either when the sampling is completed, or the date of the original
Sample Request. There can be samples taken from one core, or many cores
and many intervals.
