My interdisciplinary graduate research project addresses the impacts of climate-driven changes on particular mixotrophic phytoplankton and the broader Arabian Sea ecosystem.  Using integrated laboratory experiments, satellite observations, and field studies, I examine the coupled biological-chemical and -physical causes for recent changes in biological productivity in the Sea of Oman and the northern Arabian Sea.  My current experiments focus on the ecological effects of dissolved gas (oxygen and carbon dioxide) concentrations, mineral aerosol deposition, and mesoscale eddy activity.
