During my postdoctoral position at LDEO, I will be studying the relative importance of the energy sources that drive turbulence and the upwelling of deep waters in the South Atlantic. I will be focusing on the roles of the mean flow and of the tides in a zonal fracture zone canyon on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. I will be working with Andreas Thurnherr in the context of the DoMORE (Dynamics on Mid-Ocean Ridge flank Experiment) project.

I obtained my PhD in Southampton, UK where I worked with Eleanor Frajka-Williams. During my PhD I studied the generation of internal waves by decaying eddies at the western boundary of the North Atlantic, as well as the effects of eddies on the meridional overturning circulation measured at 26N.
