Fields of interest:
My research interest is in the study of the interaction of phytoplankton organisms with their geochemical environment. I investigate the factors determining their growth and the strategies allowing them to adapt to different environmental conditions using both physiological and molecular techniques. I am also interested in understanding the factors driving phytoplankton niche differentiation in the ocean. My current perspective involves the use of both physiological and molecular techniques, for the analysis of phytoplankton gene expression patterns, to investigate phytoplankton nutrient physiology in field communities.
