Evidence for the Magma Chambers
Below are exemplary record sections, showing actual seismic data (black wiggles), picks (thin curves) and model predictions (bold pink curves).
Magma chambers M1, M2 and M4 cause tears in the traveltime curves for some stations that are very distinct on the record section. We display one these sections and superimpose the predicted traveltime of the final tomograpgic model.
Magma chambers M3 and M5 cause show spots in the traveltime curves. We display two copies of the record section, the leftmost overlayed with the predictions of the Draped-1D model, and the right overlayed with the predictions of the final tomograpgic model.
