Bill Menke's BLOG Page: Complaints about Overseas Detentions

I've read that people were complaining, saying that some country was in the wrong "for depriving us in many cases of the benefit of trial by jury" and "for transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offences". But they weren't Muslim insurgents, the year wasn't 2005, and overseas didn't mean Guantanamo, and some country didn't mean the the United States. Rather they were a bunch of North American colonists who were bitching in Philadelphia in 1776 about the misdeeds of King George the Third.
