Well, we New Yorker's are allowing our watersheds to be paved over into shopping mall parking lots and be torn down to make room for developments of mac-mansions. Are you shocked at paying $2.50 a gallon for gasoline? Just wait until you start paying $2.50 a gallon for a shower! As one of the most energy-efficient of cities, New York is in a much better position to survive an energy crisis than a water crisis. Yet we focus very litlle attention on preserving our water resources. We should be adamant about preserving watershed, and especially in the Hudson Highlands and Catskills!
