What is the Palisades, geologically speaking? How did it get there, and why is it so high above the Hudson River? Professor Anders will describe the unusual origin of the Palisades, and more generally the geology of the Rockland County area. Neil Pederson will describe the types and history of trees in the Lower Hudson Valley, including the effects of climate change on tree growth.
