I found it helpful to be reminded that each ecosystem has the same basic structure, and Andy’s demonstration of the similarities among ecosystems was clearly demonstrated by his carefully selected photographs[...] The diagrams of the food web were also clear and concise. By relating the phytoplankton to the grass, shrubs and trees, and the zooplankton to the herbivores, I was able to transfer my knowledge of the systems on dry land to the ocean systems.  A parallel I found fascinating was the one that Andy drew between excess nutrients added to the sea causing toxic phytoplankton, and fertilizing one’s garden and the resulting weeds.
