Alors que j'essaie vaguement de rattraper mon retard qui continue de s'accumuler de semaine en semaine, l'actualite ne m'encourage pas vraiment a m'attarder sur son deroulement. A la date ou je prenais ces photos de la fenetre de mon bureau, l'Irak continuait a s'enfoncer dans la guerre civile, la campagne presidentielle francaise etait navrante, et Wolfowitz et Gonzales avaient toujours leurs jobs. Depuis, l'enfoncement s'est aggrave, le resultat de l'election fut navrant (ces lignes sont ecrites bien apres que le cardinal sur la photo se soit rendu compte que son plumage n'etait pas du tout assorti a la couleur de la neige), et Wolfy et Gonzo sont toujours la. Meme si pour plus tres longtemps...
As I vaguely try to catch up with the slow flow of existence while my delay increases week after week, the news are not really enticing me to follow them up closely. At the time I took these pictures from my office window, Iraq was drifting deeper into civil war, the french presidential campaign was pathetic, and Wolfowitz and Gonzales were still in charge. Since then, the drifting has turned to deep diving, the results of the french election confirmed to be distressing (I am writing these line long after the red cardinal has figured that his bright colors were clashing with the snow on the ground a the time), and Wolfy and Gonzo are still there. Even if not for very much longer...
