Partant en mer, on espere voir des bancs de thons s'ebatant au crepuscule - ou un mahi-mahi ondulant sous la proue. Pas des abrutis de criquets ou des papillons qui viennent s'echouer sur notre ile flottante. Eh ben pour le meme prix, nous avons droit a tout le package - et surtout des criquets en extra bonus. Jusqu'a present je les trouvais plutot sympathiques, fournissant une douce musique d'été dans les bois de pins. Mais en quantites, ce ne sont que des cafards qui volent et qui chantent. La preuve, quand on marche dessus ca fait le meme bruit desagreable. Et parfois aujourd'hui c'etait difficile d'etre dehors sans marcher dessus... Ca serait impossible de decrire mon jogging de nuit au milieu d'un nuage de crickets chantant, sautant, volant et rampant...mais c'est quelque chose que je prefererais pouvoir oublier !
When going at sea, one expects to see a bunch of tunas frolicking in the sunset, or a mahi-mahi wiggling his way near the bow of the ship - not a bunch of dumb crickets or butterflies fooled by our floating island. well, for the same price, we got the full package - with an extra bonus serving of crickets. Until now, I used to think of them as the source of the pleasant soundtrack of pine forests in the summer - but at the end, they are just like flying and singing cockroaches. One proof is that when you step on it, it makes the same unpleasant noise. And sometimes today it was difficult to walk outside without steping on them. It would be difficult to describe my nightly run in the middle of a swarm of singing, flying, jumping and crawling crickets...just not something I really want to remember !
