My research focuses on [1] developing and interpreting high-resolution proxy records of Quaternary climate variability, [2] using and evaluating process-based, numerical, and simulation models and objective statistical techniques for improving paleoclimate reconstructions, and [3] multiproxy paleoecology.

My dissertation research focused on extracting high resolution paleoclimate records from cloud forest trees at Monteverde in Costa Rica, with the goal of understanding the mechanisms behind observed changes in dry season cloud immersion, and assessing these new paleoclimate records for use in local and regional climate reconstructions. More information is available on my Research Page.
