Hudson River sediment lab 2

General Problem: Are there any general patterns in the sediment distribution in the lower Hudson, and can they be correlated with bathymetry?

The lab report of this module should contain the following elements:

In the introduction, briefly motivate the study, e.g. by mentioning the PCB issue. As you know, PCBs have been released in the Hudson and are slowly diffusing out of the sediments. Currently dredging the River is under discussion. PCB's are associated with the fine sediments, and it would be helpful to target those regions that have a lot of them.
In 'methods', describe what we did in the field, how samples were obtained and what we did in the laboratory. The instructions for the lab are posted here.
In 'results' show the maps and perhaps include a graph based on the Excel spreadsheet, if you find it useful to make your point.
In the discussion, interpret the maps and other graphs you might have prepared. Comment on the data points that do not fall on the transects. Describe the patterns you see and put them in context of the over-arching question above.
