The map shows the location of the Nansen Basin. It is the southern part of the Eurasian Basin of the Arctic Ocean.
We present classic oceanographic sections from a subset of the data (2D; temperature, salinty, tritium, He-3, age, C-14) and
high resolution distributions from the entire data set (3D; tritium, He-3, age) obtained during the ArkIV/3 cruise of the German Research icebreaker POLARSTERN in 1987. (If you have a fast connection, Netscape 3, and the QuickTime Plugin, this 3D version is better). A chapter about the O-18 results is available now.

The renewal times of the deep waters in the Greenland/Norwegian Seas and the Eurasion Basin of the Arctic Ocean were calculated using a simple box model.
More about the Arctic Ocean will be available soon.
