The city of St. George is located on the western edge of the
Colorado Plateau nestled among spectacular outcrops of early Mesozoic
continental sedimentary rocks. It is 130 mi northeast of McCarran
International Airport at Las Vegas, NV, which is about a 2 hr drive,
and 41 mi west of Zion National Park, which is about a 50 minute drive.

Lunch location for November 15:
The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm
exibits spectaculatly well-preserved dinosaur tracks and other fossils
from the Moenave Formation (Glen Canyon Group) of nonminal Early
Jurassic age. We will have lunch at the Museum just prior to the field
trip to Zion National Park.

Warner Valley Field Trip:
Field Trip on November 15:
Warner Valley near St. George will be the site of a field trip for interested particpants on the
afternoon of the 15th of November. Warner
Valley has spectacular outcrops of Early Triassic Moenkopi Formation
through Early Jurassic Navajo Sandstone. Our Field trip will be led by
Andrew Milner, Jim Kirland, and Sarah Spears.
