FIELD TRIPS -
A VIRTUAL SAMPLER OF THE STOPS

FIELD TRIP 1 (DAY 2): A half-day field trip to look at the hinge margin of Fundy basin sedimentary strata of Triassic and earliest Jurassic age and North Mountain Basalt of Early Jurassic age (representative of LIPs). All of the stops were relatively near the workshop local (Wolfville, Nova Scotia).

FIELD TRIP 2 (DAY 4): A post-meeting field trip that looked at the complex, strike slip side of Minas subbasin of Fundy basin. Units examined included sedimentary strata of Triassic and Jurassic age and the North Mountain Basalt of Early Jurassic age. In addition to syn-extension micro-basins formed during oblique extension and spectacular eolian and volcanoclastic deposits we will see very well-developed inversion (post-rift compressional) deformation of presumed Jurassic age and visit the Fundy Geological Museum.
