TENTATIVE PROGRAM
We plan a three day meeting including a field trip followed by an optional one day field trip.
Day 1
Introduction to meeting.
Plenary session in which the Pangean Transect is introduced and the major science issues are outlined and additional science questions raised.
Poster sessions addressing major themes
Working groups formed on each science question with naming of the rapporteurs/chairs (selected prior to meeting)
Participants break into working groups and determine best strategies for addressing science questions and determine extent of existing resources (principally in industry) and where coring or other data gathering efforts are required
Day 2
Optional field trip to look at hinge margin of Fundy basin sedimentary strata of Triassic and Jurassic age and North Mountain Basalt of Early Jurassic age (representative of LIPs) (back by mid-afternoon)
Working groups produce briefs on their findings and decide on PI's to lead funding requests for implementation
Day 3
Presentation of results of working groups in plenary session by rapporteurs (AM).
Discussion of findings (AM)
Formulation of report in plenary session by organizers and rapporteurs (PM)
Day 4
Optional post-meeting field trip to look at complex strike slip side of Minas subbasin of Fundy basin and Chignectgo subbasin (possible coring site); sedimentary strata of Triassic and Jurassic age and North Mountain Basalt of Early Jurassic age.
