RESEARCH AREAS

Biological oceanography and marine microbial ecology.  The interaction of photosynthetic plankton in the ocean's surface with chemical cycles and the effect of this interaction on atmospheric carbon dioxide and global climate. The evolution of the ocean's production and biogeochemical systems.
