I received my Doctor of Philosophy at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University, New York, New York, U.S.A. My doctoral research (Advisor: Prof. Richard G. Fairbanks) is based on uranium-series dating of pristine fossil corals (especially samples dated between 30,000 to 50,000 years before present) from offshore Barbados and Araki Island, Vanuatu, in the South Pacific. By the comparison between U-series and 14C dates of these fossil corals, past atmospheric 14C content record can be reconstructed, and many interesting paleoclimatological and geophysical implications can be revealed. Before coming to Lamont, I worked on planktonic foraminiferal oxygen isotopic stratigraphy of IMAGES Core MD972142 in the South China Sea for my Master Degree (Advisor: Prof. Kuo-Yen Wei) in the Department of Geology (now Dept. of Geosciences), National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan.
