Student Seminar Presentation

Assignment: Present topical seminar on some aspect of oceanography.

Format: 12 minute seminar + 3 minutes question & answer.

Example topical areas: (1) Oceanography, (2) Ocean’s role in global climate change, (3) Fisheries or aquaculture, (4) Policy, education or economics of ocean.

Resources: Primary literature (science journals), Lay-science literature (Scientific American, Times, Newsweek, NY Science Times [on tuesdays]), or internet resources (See LDEO’s links & OceanLink).

Media: overhead projector, computer projection (Power Point).

Grading: worth 10% of laboratory grade.
