From the RVTEC home page: The Research Vessel Technical Enhancement Committee (RVTEC) is an organization of technical support personnel associated with the university oceanographic Research Vessel fleet of the United States of America. RVTEC is chartered by the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS), an organization of 57 academic institutions and National Laboratories involved in oceanographic research and joined for the purpose of coordinating research facilities and oceanographic ship schedules.
