first version of the Introductory Geoscience Virtual Textbook would not
be possible without the tremendous work of the contributing authors of
featured resources. A complete list is acknowledged within the
table of contents. In addition the gathering of these resources
for the Digital Library of Earth System Education (DLESE) was made
