LDEO Dial Up Configuration

 

***YOU MUST FIRST REQUEST A DIAL UP ACCOUNT BY CONTACTING***

Win 95/98

 

Double click My Computer, and then Double click on Dial up Networking. If the Dial up Networking Wizard does not start right away, just Double click on “Make New Connection” and click next. 

 

 

 

 

In the “Make New Connection” window. Type LDEO in the text field. And make sure that your modem is selected in the “Select a device” field. Proceed by clicking next.

 

 

 

 In the next window, type in “845” for the area code and 365-8135 for the telephone number, and choose Country code.

 

 

Continue by clicking next. Then click on “finish”.

 

 

Once back in the Dial up networking window, Double click on “LDEO”.

 

 

 

Enter “Dial up” user name and password that was given to you after requesting a dial up account from Bob Bookbinder. (Dial up accounts are always followed by .ppp. Example username.ppp) In the Phone number field make sure that it is the correct number, and then click “Connect”. (Make sure your telephone line is connected to your modem at this point).

 

 

 

When you are connected, you should see an icon at the bottom right of the screen. To disconnect, Double click on the icon and Left click on “Disconnect”.
