Open House 2014

Whether you're an aspiring young scientist or a long-time science enthusiast, you're sure to enjoy Lamont-Doherty's Open House. Tour a lab, participate in hands-on earth science demonstrations, and learn from world-renowned researchers about their latest discoveries.

Saturday, October 11, 2014, 10 AM - 4 PM

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory is located at 61 Route 9W, Palisades, NY (directions).

Open House is free and open to the public, with a $5 suggested contribution. No registration required.

People arriving by car should park at the IBM Palisades Conference Center on Route 9W, just north of the LDEO campus. Shuttle buses run continuously from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, arriving and departing from the Geoscience building at LDEO.

People traveling from Manhattan can ride the shuttle 120th Street, Manhattan to LDEO: buses depart from 120th Street (between Amsterdam and Broadway, in front of Teachers College) in 15-minute increments beginning at 9:15 am until 1:15 pm

LDEO to 120th Street: buses return to 120th Street from LDEO in 15-minute increments beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm

For large groups, or if you have special needs, please call to make arrangements. It is essential that children be supervised at Open House.
