Abstract: 

The management of environmental data requires a database system which maintains the topology of time and space. Due to the complexity and variety of environmental data such a system should be flexible with respect to the database schema. We propose a database system with a special data model designed for the management of environmental data in the field of environmental impact assessment. It is coupled to a GIS and provides specific features for commonly arising structures like time series.
