I am studying land/seafloor subsidence and morphodynamic processes induced by both climate changes and tectonic activity over short geological timescales (Holocene and late Quaternary) in deltaic plains and inland seas. My primarily working interest is on reconstructing comprehensive models of subsidence from the stratigraphic records and implemented those observations on numerical models in order to further constrain the subsidence driving forces and basin and margin dynamics. Since the past few years, I have worked mainly about reconstructing the subsidence and relative sea level history in Ganges Meghna Brahmaputra Delta. I am also working on processes induced by fault activities (landslides and gas seeps) in submarine environments (mainly the Sea of Marmara). One of my main interests is on estimating the effect of active sedimentation on subsidence driving forces (i.e. sediment compaction, lithospheric thermal structure) and on the relative sea level history.
