Grading System:

1) Field and lab assignments 60 %
These include lab exercises, field assignments, maps, and essays.

2) Research projects 25 %
There are 2 research projects. The first will be worth 10% and the second15% of the final grade. The projects will be graded based on content and effectiveness of the group presentation.

3) Quizzes on lectures and readings 10%
There will be 2 quizzes covering the lectures and readings; pop quizes may be given if it appears the assigned readings are not being completed.

4) Participation/group skills 5%
This portion of the grade will be based on participation in field, laboratory and lecture activities, attitude, and group interactions.
