[Journal
entry for August 24, 2010] Harpswell, Maine. Today is
mostly sunny, a pleasant change from yesterday's grey skies. I walk down from
the Auburn Colony, where I have been staying, to Ash Cove. The tide is low and
two people are digging for clams in the mud. I walk carefully along the shore,
stepping between mats of seaweed so as to avoid getting my feet too muddy. I
spot a Snowy Egret and some sadpipers, standing in
the shallows. The seaweed is lit up nicely in the sun. About
half an hour.
