Lamont's 4D4 and 5Dn Advanced Technologies

What is 4D4?

4D4 Technologies are advanced 3D seismic imaging done many times over the same volume, and then integrated with other domains of information into an accurate model of reservoir drainage over time. Examples of additional datasets that can be integrated for more in-depth analysis include: seismic monitoring from the surface; pressure; acoustic and temperature monitoring from inside currently producing wells; historical information from past performance of a field, changes in potential fields, and modeling and simulation of the expected vs. actual behavior of the field. This data and simulation nexus will be delivered to central Field Controllers in real time for every field this new business unit operates in.

What is 5Dn?

5Dn Technologies consist of the real-time analysis of multiple datasets -- the product of both monitoring and simulation -- being collaboratively fused, visualized and realized. Data is routinely collected in real-time over packet-switched communication links by sensor networks placed in wells within producing fields. Computation is distributed across a high speed information infrastructure -- all steered at the visualization and realization nexus by controlling personnel.
