I am a marine geophysicist with a passion to apply quantitative methods to geological problems. My current research interests include
- Microbial methanogenesis, gas hydrates, and carbon cycling at continental margins;
- Geophysical inverse problems and applications to the geological time scale;
- Neogene tectonic evolution of the Mediterranean.
As a Principal Research Scientist at the Lamont Borehole Research Group, I sailed on several expeditions of the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP Expeditions 311, 321, 334, and 344), working with downhole geophysical measurements.
I am also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of Columbia University, where I teach EESC G6908 Quantitative Methods of Data Analysis in the Fall semester.
A career profile interview has been published in the September 2010 issue of Oceanography. See also an interview on the Lamont BRG site.
