-------------------------------------------------------------------- There are two model files that contain the coefficients that define the Global Dispersion Model GDM52 as described in the GDM52 paper Ekstrom, G., A global model of Love and Rayleigh surface-wave dispersion and anisotropy, 25-250 s, Geophy. J. Int., doi:10.1111/j.1365-246X.2011.05225.x RAYL_320_80_32000_8000.disp LOVE_400_100.disp These two files can be used to calculate dispersion at a point or along a path using the FORTRAN program GDM52_dispersion.f When compiled and run, the program opens the two model files and then presents different options in the terminal window: - calculate dispersion at a point - calculate dispersion between two points - calculate frequency-dependent azimuthal anisotropy at a point The user selects an option and location(s) and the program generates a table with output values at 100 frequencies between 4 and 40 mHz (250 to 25 sec). The output file is called GDM52_dispersion.out, and it is overwritten whenever GDM52_dispersion is run. Within one session, the results are appended in the same output file. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Compilation: The program is written in standard FORTRAN with extended source lines. Under Solaris and Linux, using Sun/Oracle compilers, it compiles with f77 -e GDM52_dispersion.f -o GDM52_dispersion or f95 -e GDM52_dispersion.f -o GDM52_dispersion Using the GNU compilers, it compiles with gfortran -ffixed-line-length-132 -o GDM52_dispersion or g77 -ffixed-line-length-132 -o GDM52_dispersion A sample script is included, compile.s -------------------------------------------------------------------- Test scripts and sample output: There are three sample scripts that can be used to test that the output is correct. sample1.s calculates Love wave dispersion at a point (Fig. 17) sample2.s calculates Rayleigh wave dispersion for a path (Fig. 19) sample3.s calculates azimuthal anisotropy at a point (Fig. 18) The script sample1.s should generate an output file GDM52_dispersion.out that looks like the provided file GDM52_dispersion_sample1.out Analogously for the scripts sample2.s and sample3.s -------------------------------------------------------------------- Problems with the programs or skeptical about the model output?
