Synthetics may be shifted in time when overlaid on zoomed seismic lines
Description:
SYMPTOM: In IESX 10.0, synthetics computed at a sample interval different
from that of seismic data may be shifted in time
when they are overlaid (as straight traces) on seismic lines and if
the display is zoomed.
Solution:
WORKAROUND: This problem occurs when the scale selected for seismic display,
created while zooming, is not an exact scale for the synthetics.
Following are some recommended workarounds:
1) Display the synthetic traces along the borehole.
2) Generate synthetics at the same sample rate as that of
seismic lines.
3) Use a vertical (time) scale that is compatible (supported)
for both seismic and synthetics. A scale (inches/sec.) X 100
must be evenly divisible by the number of samples/sec. for
both synthetics and seismic data.
RESOLUTION: Corrected in 10.1, released in December, 1996.
