Seismic lines display slower than GeoFrame 3.0 when large number of wells are posted with tops and logs.
Description:
SYMPTOM: The display of seismic lines (scrolling and zooming) is slower than GeoFrame 3.0 when a large number of wells are posted with tops and logs.
Solution:
WORKAROUND: The problem is due to the new functionality that was added in GeoFrame 3.1 to handle horizontal and upturned wells. 1. Define and use well sets with small number of wells(<20) to post on seismic lines. If you must have borehole sets of several hundred wells then try changing the borehole appearance search criteria on the left hand side to top only (as bottom and range just slow down the search) and set the distance to a large enough number to include all the wells the users wishes to see. Then set the path display criteria to distance and set it to a small number < 500'. 2. Try limiting the number of markers being posted to < 10 to 20 as the more markers it has the more color conversions that take place. The program has to convert the marker color from the GF name such as "bright yellow" to the equivalent RGB color to plot on the screen. It does this for each marker in each well. RESOLUTION: Progress is underway to improve the display performance in GeoFrame 3.5.
