Topic:
Surface transfer of grid to a 2d horizon recieve partial coverage
Description:
Gridded a horizon on basemap, whether it is 2D or 3D and user wants to cut it back to a horizon on 2d lines and only some of the lines are receiving interpretation.
Solution:
Bug in 3.0.x and 3.1.x. The problem is that if the grid does not cover the entire 2d line, it will skip transfer of horizon on that line. Workaround: 1.) Areal copy horizon first. 2.) Use CPS-3 IESX Link to transfer horizon to CPS. 3.) Grid horizon with desired grid spacing but set engineering window to 'Expand window by n rows/columns'. This option will expand/interpolate the grid beyond the interpretation in order to get full grid coverage on the 2d lines. If you input 4 and the final grid spacing is 100', then it will expand the grid from the original grid by 200' in the x and y directions. For QC purposes, cpslink the navigation from IESX to CPS via CPS-3 IESX Link and overlay on grid to make sure you get complete grid coverage over the 2d lines. 4.) Run CPS-3 GeoFrame Link to transfer grid to Geoframe. 5.) Then surface transfer the grid to a horizon. Corrected in GeoFrame 3.5.
