Topic:
Survey moves after loading through the seismic data loader with UTM projection.
Description:
User experienced a change in the 3D coordinates when loading seismic data into
a project with coordinates set to UTM, display and storage set to English. 3D
co-ordinate points appear to have been shifted to meters. This was happening
in every project.
Solution:
This is a bug associated with loading lat-long values for the survey's
three points. The work around is to load with X & Y values.
This is also a bug when attempting to load to an existing survey a second time
using the X & Y values. The user was loading to the seismic survey two times.
The first load was to check the starting points of the live data. The second
load was to load the full volume. Deleting the seismic volume through the data
load operation or the data manager does not affect the end result.
This is to be fixed in the GeoFrame 3.8 release.
Work arounds:
1) Delete the survey before reloading the seismic data.
2) Edit the 3D survey origin points.
3) Create a new project with the same projection system that you are using. Copy
the "current.ldfx" file from the new project into your existing project with the
UTM projection. Save that file as a "NewClass" or "NO_Co-Ords" or some
recognizable name. Make it the active loading definition
each time and remember to "Save As" IF you want to save it so that a DIFFERENT
NAME is required. It would be best to copy the new current.ldfx file at the
unix level before using it so that you will have a backup definition should it
get overwritten (i.e. current.ldfx.first). This definition allows the user to
access the successfully loaded survey, create a new class, and load additional
data to that survey.
